HJC RPHA 70 Motorcycle Helmet
The HJC RPHA 70 Carbon, the sport/touring full face helmet, is the successor of the RPHA ST. The RPHA ST was one of the best helmets in its segment and yet they have managed to improve upon it with this helmet, the HJC RPHA70 Carbon. The helmet shell is from carbon fibre, making it as light as possible.
The HJC R PHA 70 Carbon has been tested in the HJC wind tunnel, that is why the helmet remains extremely stable, even at high speeds. The outer shell is slim, compact, and comes in 3 different shell sizes. The ventilation has been renewed as well. The visor comes with a pinlock anti-fog lens and it comes in a variety of graphics including the Carbon Artan line. The helmet is prepared for the communication system Cardo Packtalk slim.
Safety
In terms of safety, this helmet does not fall under the top quality helmets in the higher price range. The helmet has carbon fibre shell. The result is a very strong and lightweight helmet with enhanced shock-resistant performance. Furthermore, the helmet is equipped with a double D closure, the best available at the moment. In fact, this closure is mandatory for MotoGP helmets. The helmet is equipped with emergency quick release cheek pads. This is important, in case of an accident, and helps with quick emergency helmet removal.
Ventilation
The ventilation of the HJC RPHA 70 Carbon is the same as on the HJC RPHA 70. The two rear outlets on this carbon helmet have been moved compared to the RPHA ST, making them much more effective. A new air intake has been added just under the chin. This ventilation opening is especially useful if you are riding in a touring position. The air inlets and outlets on top of the helmet create a dual purpose top vent where the intake and exhaust operate simultaneously for maximum air circulation.
Furthermore, these ventilation openings are adjustable, allowing you to control the vents for maximum air. On the inside of the helmet at the chin is a button with which you can choose whether the air is blown towards the visor or the face or both. Despite the extensive ventilation, this is one of our quietest helmets, which you can see demonstrated in our HJC RPHA 70 Road Test Video on our YouTube channel.
Visor
The HJC RPHA 70 Carbon has a Max Vision HJ-26ST anti-scratch shield, which comes standard with an anti-fog lens. The visor is equipped with a RapidFire ™ Shield Replacement System. This means that the visor can be easily and quickly exchanged without the use of tools. This visor also offers another 99% protection against UV rays.
Furthermore, the visor can be locked with a slider, when it is in a closed position. The helmet is also equipped with an internal anti-scratch and anti-fog sun visor. This sun visor can easily be operated by means of a slider on the side, at the bottom of the helmet. This button has been moved compared to the RPHA ST’s, for better ease of use.
Lining
The liner of the RPHA 70 Carbon is of premium quality. It is HJC’s Multicool liner in the cheek and crown, and quicker drying function than previous generations. This fabric provides enhanced moisture wicking properties. The lining has an antibacterial effect so that unpleasant odours do not stand a chance.
The lining is fully removable and washable, and feels wonderfully soft. At the level of temple, space has been made in the lining for spectacle arms, this is a true solution for people wearing glasses. The neck roll is finished with leather, to ensure that the fabric does not fray and to give it more grip when you put the helmet on a smooth surface.
